The website design was started in September of 2006 as a means to better reach our audience, West Texas gardeners.
The website was selected as the 1st. Place winner of the 2006 Texas Master Gardener Association Mass Media Award by a panel of out-of-state judges.

The Permian Basin Master Gardener (PBMG) Program is a volunteer and educational program, whose members are trained by the Texas AgriLIFE Extension Service-Texas A&M University System.

The mission of the volunteers is to utilize their expertise to teach people more about horticulture and the importance of plants to the environment and to our quality of life. The program is designed to meet the horticultural needs of citizens of the Permian Basin.
